Alaina’s Sweet Six Month Milestone Photography Session

There is something so incredibly special about the six-month milestone.

This stage is one of my absolute favorites to photograph—and sweet little Alaina reminded me exactly why.

A Real-Life Baby Doll in my Studio

From the moment Alaina arrived at the studio, I knew this session was going to be something special.

With her piercing blue eyes and soft, doll-like features, she truly looked like a real-life baby doll. And the best part? Her personality matched her beauty perfectly.

She was so sweet, so smiley, and completely content the entire time. Those big, bright eyes followed me with curiosity, and every little expression she made felt like a tiny glimpse into who she’s becoming.

Why I Love Photographing Six Month Sessions

Six Month Milestone Sessions hold such a unique place in a baby’s first year.

At this stage, babies are:

• Sitting up independently (or very close!)
• Full of expressions and personality
• Still perfectly content staying in one spot

It’s this sweet in-between phase where they’re no longer tiny newborns, but not quite on the move yet—and it allows us to capture so much of their growing personality without the busyness that comes later.

There’s a calmness to these sessions that I just love.

Personality in Every Little Expression

One of my favorite things about Alaina’s session was how expressive she was.

From soft little smirks to bright, wide-eyed curiosity, she gave us so much variety without even trying. These are the moments that parents hold onto—the little looks, the tiny smiles, the sparkle in their baby’s eyes.

This is the age where their personality really begins to shine through, and Alaina absolutely delivered.

The Sweetest Detail

And of course… one of my favorite parts of any sitter session:

Those tiny feet.

Around six months, babies discover their feet—and it is the sweetest thing. The way they grab onto their toes, examine them, and maybe even attempt to nibble them makes for some of my most favorite photographs.

It’s such a simple moment, but one that feels so meaningful. A tiny reminder of just how little they still are, even as they grow right before our eyes.

A Milestone Worth Remembering

Six months goes by in the blink of an eye.

It’s a season filled with giggles, curiosity, and those heart-melting expressions that change by the day. Sessions like Alaina’s are such a beautiful way to pause time—just for a moment—and hold onto all those little details that are so easy to forget.
